REVIEW of:
 Akachan to Boku (Baby and Me)

Fifth-grade student Enoki Takuya and baby brother Minoru's mother Yukako has recently died due to a hit-and-run car accident, leaving the family to support themselves. Harumi, the boys' father, must work long hours to earn money for the small family while Takuya, although a young boy, must sacrifice childish playtime in order to take care of himself and his baby brother. Innocent as he is, little Minoru does not realize that Yukako cannot come back, making the situation even more heartbreaking. Takuya must deal with all the troubles of an adult as well as the the ups and downs of brotherly love. Based on the manga series by Ragawa Marimo (also of another popular series Hana to Yume), Akachan to Boku is a lovely shoujo series dealing with the emotions of a young boy during his transition from boyhood to adulthood.   - Hanako
