| Comments | Akazukin ChaCha is quite like a number of other shows in which the bad guy always tries to get the good guy, but somehow the goodguy escapes, usually by dumb luck. Inspector Gadget or Nuku Nuku come to mind... Despite the unoriginality of the plot, however, the characters are fun and the dialog is good. The situations that arise are sometimes a little silly or annoying, but many of them are quite funny, too. Here you've got the normal "Shiine-chan likes ChaCha, but ChaCha likes Riiya-chan, so naturally Shiine and Riiya hate each other" but you also have a nice interaction between some grown up characters too. The child aspect makes the series very cute, though, and is probably the most entertaining part of all. Of the episodes I've seen, none of them are anything special, but they're certainly worth watching if you've got the time. The bad guy's "Sorry boss, I screwed up this time, but I have an even better plan for next time!" spiel at the end of every episode gets a bit tedious after awhile, but what do you expect? All in all, I say check it out! You might be pleasantly surprised! | Seriously,
I did not think Akazukin Cha Cha was really that special nor outstanding.
Excluding the funny and hilarious parts of this series, I thought that
the people who created this anime series were really in for the money and
should not be considered as a part of the people who create anime to entertain
us. Never the less, there were still at least some good points. The art
in this anime series was not disappointing at all. For once, the clouds
in the sky actually looked semi-real. I thought that they also did a really
good job on the gesture and anime figure drawing. However, despite the
good use of reflections off shiny objects and eyes, there was a lack of
usage in terms of shading which brought down the quality of the artwork.
As for the storyline, it was very clearly brought to the viewers in a manner
which made it easy to understand. The only down side was is that I thought
the story line was horrible which leads us to the bad points of this series.
. . .
It really dissapointed me when I saw how repetitious the episodes were. Although all the details of the anime in each episode changed a bit, the episodes in general all followed the following formula: a new monster or enemy is introduced, the monster tries to kill Cha Cha, of course it fails, and during the last five minutes of the show Cha Cha kills it. And as if that's not enough, I would consider this a cheap episode as well. Every time Cha Cha transforms and kills her enemy, the same clip is played. Also, it seems that Cha Cha only knows one offensive move to kill her enemies throughout the whole series. Another down side of Akazukin Cha Cha is the character development. Although I thought the characters possessed really outstanding personalities, their characteristics in one episode contradicted with the other episodes. For example, in episode one, Cha Cha is on a broom flying with her friend, Riiya-kun. Flying with another person on a broom is supposedly called "flying doubles." However, around the third or fourth episode, Cha Cha claims that she cannot fly doubles. Little details and flaws like this lowered the realism of this anime series and made me feel that the characters as well as the whole show was carelessly done. Overall, even though I was hooked onto this series and kept watching episode after episode because it was so funny, when I finished watching several episodes, I had the feeling that even if I missed out on an episode or two to do something else like play basketball, it really would be worth it. This series did not really make me think or emotionally move me nor was there a really, really signifacant overall storyline. It was more like a bunch pointless comedy shows which are barely even connected. And sooner or later as I had expected, the funnies began to grow repetitious as well and by the thirty-something episode I was barely laughing at all. There was not really anything too spectacular about this episode and therefore I would not suggest this series too many people. Unless you're one of those really, really die-hard magical-girl anime fans, you will probably be disappointed in what you see regardless of how cute the characters may look. |
