 Eden's Bowy

Eden's Bowy      "A long long time ago both humans and God were living in this world. God had a special power to control humans' destiny. Actually, God just needed to watch over humans. But God was a little too strict on humans. This is because God does not like anything wrong. Therefore any human who would make some mistakes, God could not forgive. But, humans did not act as God wished. So, God punished humans... and humans have been having a rough time since then.Time went by and one day a man appeared among humans. He carried God's Hunting Sword and battled with God in order to stop God from being tyrannical to humans. God, after beaten by the man, was bleeding and his blood turned into mist. And the mist has harmed humans for a long time. One day, a new God came out from the mist. The new God does not want to make the same mistake again so the new God does not punish humans anymore. The new God just watches over humans, especially the man with God's Hunting Sword. But the story still continues..." - (The Story of the God Hunter, Eden's Bowy)

Eden, the great floating cities. Two of them circle the globe, Yurugaha and Yanuesu. Everyone wants to live on one, one day... but what really goes on in the Edens? And why are they about to go to war?

Yorun's (Jornne) dream is to live on one of the Edens, especially Yurugaha, but alas, he is only a poor famer's son. By day he works the fields and at night he works on his own special project: forging a sword. His life is simple but he is content... until two unidentified strangers kill his father and set fire to his house. Another stranger, a little girl named Elisiss, enters the scene and saves Yorun, but with his father dead and his house destroyed he doesn't know what to do. While burying his father the next day, a fourth stranger appears, a tall mysterious man by the name of Oyazi, and he tells Yorun many things he does not wish to hear... and so begins their journey.

Comments Wow, what can I say? This is a way cool anime... it's not what I expected, but even better, actually. The way in which the story can be so dramatic and serious, and then flip to a totally hilarious comedic scene is well done and the two complement each other well. And the two scouts from Yanuesu, they are priceless! "Umi umi umi... I love the sea! The sea is wonderful! Life sprang from the sea..." LOL! But at the same time, the story of the God Hunter is compelling and suspenseful, as are the intentions of Yurugaha and Yanuesu. In many ways, I find the mix of the comic and the suspenseful very similar to that of Rurouni Kenshin, an excellent series. I also enjoy the art very much, and Elisiss-chan wa totemo kawaii desu, ne? I find it fun and exciting to try to guess what the whole, overlying plot is, as it is not readily apparant but each episode drops clues as to it's purpose. You then have to glue all the clues together and make a guess and what the bigger picture is, and with each episode you watch and each new clue you obtain, you get to modify and enhance your guess. I love it! I heartilly recommend this anime to all anime lovers... WATCH EDENS BOWY!
