REVIEW of:
 Sakura Diaries (Sakura Tsuushin)

Sakura Diaries      Sakura Diaries is a comedy that follows the adventures of Touma and his cousin Urara... who constantly, but subtly, hints about her infatuation with him. Examination days rolls along and he falls in love with a attractive woman name Mieko, vowing to himself to make her his wife. Too bad that she makes it into the college and he doesn't! That won't stop him though =P Determined to make it in next year, he enrolls in a examination preparatory school, while living in Tokyo with.... GULP.... Urara... meanwhile STILL maintaining his lie to Mieko about making it into Keio University with her. Watch this comedy as Touma juggles his life around the seemingly sex-driven Urara and the lovely Mieko. Sakura Diaries is a production of UJIN Shongokukan and is a 12 part OAV.                       - Akito

Comments Before I had heard anything at all about Sakura Diaries, I had somehow run across the opening theme to it and loved it... ever since, I've wanted to see the series. Well, to me, it did not disappoint. I wouldn't call it a GREAT anime, but I definitely enjoyed it. Perhaps the MOST enjoyable part for me was the wonderful translations... "Hot DA-YAMN!" is just one example of how well the translation comes across. Throughout the tape I found myself laughing at some of the hilarious situations, ecchi or otherwise. At one point, Urara is virtually nude, wearing only an apron... but when company arrives, she seems to completely forget this fact, much to the embarrassment (or perhaps enjoyment) of her guest. =) The plot isn't all that original, though at the end of the first four episodes, I did find myself wishing I could see more. If you're in for a lighthearted laugh with a slightly over-cliched drama, then Sakura Tsuushin sounds like just your thing! =)   One word can describe this anime. ECCHI!!!!!! You don't know what that means.... how's this: PERVERTED =) Okay so the premise isn't exactly all about sex, although there are quite a few nude scenes and "mature" (ahem) situations. Be forewarned! Anyway, on with my review:

I just love the artwork for Sakura Diaries. Add this together with a promising plot and you get the makings of a healthy OAV. I'm upset that I haven't had the opportunity to watch past the 4th episode, but if the show continues along the same course I know I'm going to love it... and it probable climatic (no pun intended hahahaha!) ending. The characters were all unique and refreshing, although I'm not much for the incest thing... but hey.... if they are distant distant... distant... better add one more for good measure, DISTANT cousins, then I guess it's okay =P Sakura Diaries had me laughing from the first episode, sure... it could have been made without the hentai scenes but they are there so deal with them. Besides they are done in good taste so don't worry. =)
