REVIEW of:
 Slayers Perfect

Slayers Perfect    The first of the Slayers Movies, Slayers Perfect doesn't really pick up where the TV series left off, but rather goes off on it's own tangent. Instead of good old Gourry, Lina teams up with her new friend from the OVA series -- Naga (sometimes spelled Nahga). Together, Lina and Naga set off for a nice relaxing vacation at an island spa... but of course, if they HAD a nice relaxing vacation, it wouldn't make much of a movie, would it? =) Yup, you guessed it... trouble brews on this island. At first, it's the mysterious spa owner... then a travelling acting company... and finally --- a toad?? Well, I don't want to give away the entire storyline, so I'll let you watch for yourself and see how Lina and Naga handle the toad... just be warned: this movie contains a bunch of plot-twists and surprises! A mixture of humor, drama, action, more humor, and mystery, Slayer's Perfect lives up to the reputation the TV series earned.      - Kiwi

Comments As with all Slayers anime, I enjoyed this Slayer's movie very much. The superbly crafted mix of humor and action, mystery and predictability that made Slayers so popular is quite evident in the first Slayers movie. The plot turns and twists so much, with so many little surprises and undpredictable happenings, that when I started to write the review for this movie, I couldn't remember whether it all happened in one movie, or in many! Yet, during the movie itself, the flow of logic is quite clear and easy to follow, making the movie very understandable. Even if you've never seen a Slayers episode before, you will still love Slayers Perfect, as the personalities of the characters shine through loud and clear. I definitely recommend this movie to all -- as long as you can put up with Naga's infamous "laugh of death!" =)
