 Lupin III: Dark Order of Assassination

Lupin III     Inspector Zenigata gets pulled off the Lupin case to be replaced by Kiss the mercenary. Kiss' order is to bring in Lupin and the rest of his gang alive at all cost. What does this Ex-Member of ICPO want with the Lupin Troupe? Even the threat of Kiss is not enough to distract Lupin from his next job. They compete with the scheming of the shotshell organization who deal in money and weapons, but how to get to them? Steal a Russian nuclear sub of course! This brings a visitor from Jigen's past, but how and who is this person?            - Ryuga

Comments As Zenigata's throaty call "Luuuupaaaahn" rings out for perhaps the last time, I felt a tear well in my eye (though I *knew* he'd be back... Lupin ain't Lupin without Zenigata. They *NEED* each other!). Dark Order is a typical Lupin movie. With great comedy routines and Lupin's mischievous scheming shining through, Lupin fans will not be disappointed. The plot twists and mystery, though it might not keep you on the edge of your seat, will surely keep you entertained. If you haven't seen a Lupin movie yet, this might not be the best one to see first, as Zenigata's transfer won't mean nearly as much as if you already know the relationship they have. In all, though, be sure to watch it: it's an average Lupin movie, which makes it a good movie overall. =) Zenigata pulled from the Lupin case forever? I found this movie very average for a Lupin movie, and this is a good thing! All of the insane action sequences are here along with that slap stick comedy which is truly a Lupin trademark. One high note for me was the inclusion and subplot developed around Jigen. Not nearly as much as Goemon in Lupin III plot of the Fuma clan. Don't worry this is still a Lupin "the main man" film. All of the characters play their base roles with no new development. There is the above mentioned Jigen inclusion, but not as much as this viewer would like to see. Still most certainly worth the watch for any anime fan needing a fix.
